Finally! A return date!

Hi everyone,

Please excuse me for my infinite absence… but it does seem that this time it really is coming to an end!

BeeBiju has been on holidays for the past few weeks as well, and as I prepared its return, I realised I’m off soon, so there’s not much point being back, going and then coming back again.

With a little bit of a heavy heart, I’ve come to decide that my official return date to the world of custom jewellery will be the 2nd of July, a bit later than anticipated! On the upside, there is time to get back to creating, which I’ve neglected for so long, and that means I can: 1 – Get my brain into the swing of jewellery making things; 2 – load my shop with new items!

Looking forward to it…

Oui, Paris!

Hi, you! First of all, apologies for my absence. While I was busy travelling, working and with other bits and pieces, I didn’t realise that almost THREE MONTHS have passed (scary, no?!)!

Now, let’s put in practice something I’ve wanted to do for some time: a travelling collection.

During my honeymoon in Cuba, I was in a complete “offline” mode but I kicked myself a bit when I came back, very happy, extremely exhausted and… beads free – yes, I actually forgot! While in Havana, the hubby and I visited a lot of gorgeous places and had a very interesting cultural learning experience, to say the least. But despite the fact our living room has a little bit of Cuban art, my craft drawers don’t!

So, on a personal level, I’ve made a commitment to travel more and while it’s not easy – for many reasons (one of them being my irrational fear of flying) -, I’m trying as I love the idea of getting to know other cities, countries and cultures. At the same time, when possible, I want to get my crafty side, as much as my cultural side, on it. And where should we start? Lovely Paris, of course, a city full of elegance, culture and gorgeous sights! During a city break with the hubby and some friends, I paid a “little” visit to a beads shop – that is, while the friends caught up with their sleep in the car and the hubby kept asking “Are you done? Are you done?” 🙂 In the heart of Paris, lovely little Matière Première filled me with indecision. Eventually, I settled for these items:

And I’m happy to say that they all have a purpose!

While I feel quite comfortable with the idea of making earrings (as you will see with most of the results!), I gave it a go with a few bracelets as well.

And I must confess, after days of consideration, I decided to keep a pair for myself:

As for the rest of the pieces, here is a little sneak peek of what they look like:

And I’m thrilled to share them on Etsy, as the first items in my “Around the World” collection! Feel free to take a look and let me know what you think. And as per usual, here is a discount code, in case you decide to buy: BEEBIJUBLOG5.

See you next time!

The world of Pinterest

(Before I start telling you all the 100 different reasons why I love Pinterest, I hope you like my blog’s new look!)

Oh my dear Pinterest; some people’s idea of Paradise, it would be perfect if it wasn’t so addictive (or if the day had an additional 5 hours!)

Pinterest is a great way to keep everything you have, want, love, dislike and require in one place. You can create as many boards as you wish and pin whatever you find on the web that may be of interest to you. Ohhhh it’s like fireworks! 😀

Having joined Pinterest before my business started, I used it (and continue to do so) to keep things I like one click away. And once the jewellery making started, Pinterest quickly became my hobby buddy, where I store a bunch of projects and ideas that I refer to all the time. I have also started to Pin what I do… It’s a great way to keep it all in one place. Here is what my board looks like. I have added it to my WordPress menu for easy access.

After subscribing to emails from a website that provides advice on starting a business, I also noticed that a lot of people actually use it, not only as a platform to advertise their businesses but also as a way to share their ideas and recommendations. And it’s user-friendly!

If you haven’t tried it yet, here is your chance!

From wedding ideas to sports, going through ways to advertise business or even charity event strategies, there is every chance you will love it as much as I do! Just to give you an idea, it was through Pinterest that I first saw what was going to be my gorgeous Wedding Dress, with an immediate Pinterest seal of approval from my sister-in-law!

Going in? Well, enjoy, and ensure you block the next few hours for this and this only… you will need the time!
